maybe once its not broken anymore you'll clean up that engine bay!
I plan on it next week
Hey you still have 2 un-used grooves on that pulley...
Yep. 8 rib cost money
Valve cover breather, other than that looks good!
What's wrong with breather?
I personally don't like breathers, I like the PCV functioning like factory. That way it keeps the crankcase at a little vacuum, both banks get ventilation, etc. Not trying to start a debate or anything, to each their own.
for what its worth im about 90% certian i wouldnt have ate #5 cylinder on my car right before i left. on my 2.8 s1x setup on e85 i was making close to 20psi out fvcking around with some friends. 130mph pull speedo started going backwards when i hurt the engine. i didnt have time to pull it apart but i know it blew the gasket of the rear vc out by where the egr valve usually is.
replaced that vc gasket drove it around the block same thing happened now its parked under a cover in my garage didnt have any more time to work on it.
zero knock on the aero so either i,had a **** tank of winter blend e85 in north dakota or something else is fvcked up and it ate the plug tip on #5 just the strap was gone rest of the pkug and porcelan was just fine.
im pretty sure with it being like 40 degees out and screwing around on the interstate combine with almost 20psi beeathers possibly could have saved this on my car. mind you i drove the car hard for almost a year out in dc on e85 with no issues other than an assploded flex plate lol....
next time around when i get back and sort out this setup itll get 2 breathers and ported heads for "added incase tyler does something stupid" insurance lol!! and not a chance in hell ill put a interfailer on so dont even mention it lol!
I was talking about drilling\tapping the valve covers and running hoses to the original PCV sruff, lol. I guess a breather on the back would help too, just wouldn't be under vacuum like the PCV is and such. Oh well just another option of course, lol.
Dan.. don't clean it. Don't make it pretty.
Drive it and enjoy. Once you clean it and treat it too well, it'll break. Experience talking here sir.
Lol I know how that is. I slapped my rebuild gxp brakes on it today abd the one tire wouldn't spin. Apparently there is 2 different sized slides and I had to thick of ones in there
Read this thread... Thank God i do rebuilds once a year wait let me not speak so soon...my hats off to you good sir
I've done a bit more since the last update but have to take pics yet
Then your update doesn't tell us much.
No pics..you need to tell people
Pics.. let people see it
Great!!! Great builds none the less motors are cheap to grab just the time to build them with other responsibilities post pics of the whats done!!!!!
The last motor I bought I made money putting it in my car so that helps a lot. I got my retros in took it to the big meet. Put Bonneville bracket on. Took it to another local show and won a trophy.
That's a lot of run time on the motor. Isn't it time to swap it out again?
