I got about $100 in the cam, Free heads, free block, sd headers left over from my 98, gaskets cost the most out of anything.

SHE'S ALIVE!! I was worried when I turned the key for the first time and it didn't start but it started right up second time. Now to shower and throw a tune at it to get rid of codes. I guess I should get ahold of dyno brian now to get a real tune.

sounds like a rocker to me, maybe one of the lifters has not pumped up yet?

It sounds like top end to me but i'm going to drive it to work today and see if it gets any better once the oil get hot and circulated. Heads came from a friend and all the parts on them are new to my knowledge.

That sounds like valvetrain noise to me. When I spun a bearing it was clacking like a old beat up diesel, you just knew it was bad. I would bet if you pulled off the valve covers you could find the issue. I've seen several GPs with busted springs making racket like that.
