you very much can hear KR, if you get enough of it. sounds like rocks in a can.

ill pick up that sealant at autozone. I have maybe put 20 miles on the car since i have had it, just been moving it in and out of garage to work on customer cars and when im done pull it back in. couple trips around the block after installs make sure no leaks.

debating if i want to get new headlights, havent found any i like, i want projectors, but cant find a housing i like. tails as well, but all the designs out there are just way over thought and ricey to me, so smoked out stocks is what it'll need to be. need new GTPsupercharged emblems as well.

i replaced all the interior lights with 8 led lights, looks GREAT, just need to order the dome lights, pics to come this weekend. one of those strut body braces to the frame, i was taking them off to wire-brush and re-coat them and the head snapped off, so now i got tap it out.

As far as projectors go, if you're up for the challenge.

Search "retro projector" for 97-03, couple threads on it

The Spyder single housings with halos, have poor light output, bouncing problems, and thin brackets that break once tightened.

Stock or retro is the best way depending on what you want. HIDs optional

Yea that is what i am noticing, i did the the stock housing but blacked out, (from the inside) caught my eye, all my cars have HID's so thats a for sure, b but i hate how Open lamp headlights look iwth HID, just ricey to me. o well i may grab one of the ones off ebay, and modify it.

edit. is that what people are doing, getting projector headlights and just swapping out the lense, thats not to hard to do at all.

No, that would mean your tune sucks, or your having some sort of over-heating issues that is cause pre-detonation IE (cylinder walls to hot) i usually take my cars tune to further limits than customer cars, although 1-2kr isnt much, i have seen 4-5 thats when it is audible and i dial it waay back. 0 kr all around is obvi what we want to aim for. autozone has it, just checked actually. unless it is a special order. i do prefer napa.

I've never heard of anyone hearing KR before. It was a lean/exhaust leak issue.

ah, like i said 8* would of did some serious damage, because KR already occured/happened when you see it, unless its false KR.

I know how KR works and what it is. 8* once didn't do any damage on my car. I fixed the leak and it was fine. It all depends on the shape of the car as to how detrimental the KR will be to that specific car.

that link wasnt to show you what KR is, it was a respectable/trust worthy/known website, that explained how you can hear KR. there are many others, but if you cant hear it on this platform then you cant hear it, but it CAN be heard.

Im going to meet up with a Local member maybe this weekend or next when everything is done, to do some logs and see what is going on with the engine.

Anyway to check on the PCM if it is a ZZP PCM?

Do your fans stay on after you shut the car off? If so then there has been work done on the pcm

GREAT call, we thought that was very weird, the car was on, and we turned it off, key's out. and randomly the fan kicks on, and me and my other mechanic buddy look at each other like ?

But there is a sticker on the engine bay that says "caution fans turn on with engine off"

HID Projectors from The Retrofit Source Inc
The Morimoto projectors, with a HID kit. Take the stock housings, bake them and pull lens off. Paint housing and modify the projector into place, seal lens back on and install.

Good stuff TLshelf, but for the price of the projects i may as well grab some aftermarket headlight assemblies, assuming the lighting wont be as good, but adequete, and go to a junk yard and rip off a better lense off another car, but it would be a fun project.

Man the more and more the owner tells me the fails he did in this car the more iim thinking this thing is going to bust on me, he said he was running 87 gas on it for like 6 months and beating on it.

It still runs good. i cant wait to pull the plugs and have a look at them and see what they can tell me. Im assuming the reason the car smokes so much is from running rich, it reaks of fuel, that and a combination of the cold.

TL;DR dood before was putting 87octane gas in car/car might be ticking time bomb.

Having another issue, I cannot feel the trans changing gears at all. And from a dead stop I have to give it a decent amount of gas to get it to start moving. The car won't rev past 3k. If I put it in 1st or 2nd it will burn out. But if I do it in drive it will not. I'm hoping this is ignition issue.
