So for christmas I was on the fence about what I wanted to spend my money on. When I really sat down and thought about it I think I'm going to sell my wheel/tire setup because I'm not really happy with it anymore. I want to get something a little wider and get tires that fit better with some stretch like I had tried to do earlier. All the extra rubber I went with to fill the wheel gap on coils is really just rubbing on everything now.

So this time around I want to get something with a little bit of a lip and maybe a gold face. I like the color now but i think the dark color makes them look smaller than they are. I liked the look of the xxr 521s (XXR Wheels: 521 18x10 Gold Rims) or something like that and I'm thinking the gold would be cool. And I'm also considering a slightly staggered set or getting spacers for the rear. Any thoughts on this you guys? And it would be awesome if you guys have some wheel suggestions.

I'd go bronze with a lip, NOT staggered.

    I ordered these today
I think the gold face ones aren't made anymore, I couldn't find them. But I can always paint these.

    18x10 +25

I already fudged up on tire sizes before and I'd hate to do it again. I was thinking of running a 225/45/18, any thoughts? (mainly for Bio)

Look up the miata tire size calculator. Then you can find out what sizes thou can run.

i guess im not sure what you are trying to do. based on your old wheel and tire size, are you wanting to stay the same? run more camber? go lower? what size tire are you running now?

the only thing i am concerned about is that if you want to run a shorter than stock size tire (height) then you will be able to go lower overall with the entire car, but the wheel gap also increases. so i dont know how much of the tire you had tucked before in order to counteract that, ya know?

I know being a 18x10 offset can be pushed, but is a +25 still going to be too much?

See I'm trying for 19x9.5s on 25mm, you have the strut clearance to tire/wheel, with the coilovers you don't.

i really think youd be okay with a 225/45/18. it's going to be a bigger stretch than you have now, but it'll still be enough tire to look good.

i wouldnt step down to a 215, though. i feel like that is too small. the overall diameter difference from stock to a 225/45/18 is about .5" difference...

Yeah i want to go with a slighty shorter tire with more stretch to tuck up into the fenders. Right now i have 225/50 on a 8.75 wheel and the stretch is almost unnoticabe and the edges of the tire rub everywere. I want to stay decently close to stock height just so my speedo isnt way off. And i actually think the tires I have now are a little taller than stock so plenty of the tire is tucked. So you think I should be safe with .5 inches shorter?

You should be fine, it'll really translate to 1/4" drop on the vehicle

You can get someone with a tuner to recalibrate your speedo by the way IIRC

yeah, i'd go for the 225/45/18s. they should fit well with what you're doing.
