I think I may need to trade out the front springs for something heavier, I hit the bumpstops pretty often now. They're 400's right now so I might go get some 450's. Also theres a guy on clubgp with coils but he has the koni inserts that aren't offered anymore and I've been wanting to look into them because theyre shorter than stock and that could help me go lower
I didn't know that they're shorter and I have some lol.

Apparently they are shorter, I was reading some posts of his and he said with the adjusters all the way up he was still a little lower than stock. Thats awesome that you have them, just make yours into coils

Thanks! It rides pretty good to me, its a little bouncy but I think its comfortable. Pot holes kill though, if I'm not careful and I miss one, it jars the whole car and hits pretty hard. Like I said in the other post, I really think some heavier springs would do me good up front. The backs are perfect and I don't think I've ever bottomed them out. I really think its more comfortable than my 130k stock struts

I was going to but I can go a little lower just on traditional spring for much cheaper so I'm going that route. The rear is low enough for me, not the front lol. I also need to find out which Konis I have, one of the fronts is pretty much blown.

And this car looks so nice. What's next?

car looks good man! I'm on coilovers too and its a little bouncy...

I can barely fit a finger in my gap. I'm running 245/45/17. I wanna run 215/55/17 maybe I'll be able to tuck them a bit and stay that low.

If you find out which ones they are, let me know! Next thing would probably be mufflers and tips and maybe a spoiler to kind of finish off the exterior for right now. Then I really need to rewire my sound system and add an amp and I want to re-do my interior. Gray/dark gray is a depressing interior to sit it haha

I think those would look good man, I like your car alot. Some tuck would look really good. Just curious, do you have the Held coils? And how heavy are your springs?

I look at your wheels, then back to mine, now back to yours and then back to mine...Sadly, mine are not yours but if i were to slam my cars on coilovers, they may compare to yours. Look at mine, then back to yours, what do you have? A boss car.

Well done sir, the car looks filthy!! (Hope people noticed I based that message off the Old Spice commercial so I don't sound like a dipstick)

I do like the gen 2 haha, or if I could get my hands on an anniversary one I'd do it! I had wanted the gen 1 but idk if it really matches my car anymore.

I was hanging out at my grandma's today and the sun hit my back tire just perfect to light up the goodyear letters and make them look painted. I think it looks kinda cool but I haven't decided if painted letters are coming back lol.

"a little bouncy" means the struts aren't valved to the springs correctly, but there is no way around that unless you get a custom revalved set of struts matched to your spring rates.

baker, car needs to go about half inch lower. tuck some generous tire and you'll be there.

and for the record, i am thinking about painting the letters on my tires as well. not sure if i should do white or yellow, though.

I think yellow letters are awesome, I would do yellow if I painted mine.

And I wish that I could go lower but the rear is maxed out already. Maybe I could get different sleves or something because the threads stop and there's still room to go lower on the strut. And I was also wondering, do you have any idea if there would be proper coilovers made for a different model car that I could get to work? I'm already looking for a shorter than stock strut right now so maybe theres something better that I could make work?

i havent looked into it a lot considering i am not going to be running coilovers when i get around to playing with another wbody, but i could only assume there might be a car with a similar knuckle for the lower mount. the upper mount could most likely be reused from what you've got now.

however, if you want to get sophisticated with what you have. take them off and take them to a shop. have them chop off the lower mount and move it up like an inch and reweld it back onto the body of the strut. now, they probably won't do this unless you rebuild the struts because welding on a sealed gas strut is a 100% no-no so they'll have to crack them open and release the pressure and fluid before they do that. look around and see if there is a shop that's willing to do this as well as revalve the strut to more properly match the spring rates you're running. another inch should give you move than enough room to almost tuck wheel in the right scenario.

Aren't Konis shorter than stock? You could do the retrofit if they are shorter and have something that can handle your springs.

As for moving the mounting bracket up that really won't work in the front since the strut is already close to the axle. And could move your collar up.

Cut the top of the strut shaft and retread it?
