Anyways long story short look at the pictures it explains everything but I put a brand new crate motor into her and a month later overhauled the trans. at 160k miles I should be good for awhile.

Front bank of Pistons.... still held decent compression lol.

    old engine out.

Piston #1 skirt ended up in the oil pan.

    New Engine

What you get for spending $$$$$$

    replaced s/c coupler also

    Trans time.

    out it comes...

    Fun stuff

Buff and wax today. Looking good at 160k miles. like driving a new car. Also replaced both cv axles and links. and that brings us to today. I love this car too much.

$2500. between that and a used motor.. got it 10% below dealer cost because a local dealer had one they wanted to get rid of. and labor was $0. 3 year 100,000 mile warranty. yeah its not cheap but in the situation i was in it was the best idea.

    New motors are always good.

But how did you blow up the first one?

boosted grand prix+stupid teenager=blown motors. but the head gasket was plugged so it looked like coolant wasnt flowing very well to the front bank so that might of had a factor if things were overheating while under boost. had 160k miles. could be a combination between a few things i guess. anyone have an idea why the front 3 pistons broke in the same 3 areas?
