So i bought this car from a buddy today i rebuilt the engine about 6 months ago has ported heads, intense rockers, vs cam, ported blower, u bend delete, zzp ecm and 2.8 pulley, and also alot of little other things i only paid 500 for it with a bad trans is beat up and has some rust under the ground affects i dont think it has one straight panel. but it will be a good daily just wanted to see what everyone thought.46384_460840303973810_1144413174_n.jpg534306_3390428134154_791993009_n.jpg

Holy poop you/he ran that thing with a 2.8 and a ZZP pcm with stock manifolds?

I can't belive a piston didnt explode through the side of the block.

Well before you get that up and running again, I'm sure you'll do some reading into tuning on of these cars.

Add some headers, up the pulley size to a 3.4 and get a wideband, then that thing will really fly.

Still gonna grenade that trans on that set up (if your running KR free) if you keep the KR then your pistons will give first

No headers on a 2.8? Dear lord, that car should be blown to pieces by now.

Go to Triple Edge Performance and email them about a Trans.

I dont know much about trans but here's a few parts to get you started.

    300M Input Shaft
    TransGo Shift Kit
    7/8th Chain
    Hardened 4th
    Valve Body Upgrades
3.29 Gear Ratio (Only if you want, wont "Beef" up the trans at all, just better acceleration from 0-60+) stock gearing is better for highway pulls.
'97 GTP - Stage 2 Heads, 90# Springs, 1.9 Harland Sharp Rockers, Gen V, 3.0, Intake, N* TB, LQ4, FSIC, 10.5mm Wires, Poly Mounts, SLP Headers, Borla Exaust, Built Trans - SOLD*

    '08 G8 GT - 6.7L 408CI Stroker, 239/254 Cam, Fast Intake, 102mm TB, CAI, Full Exhaust.

so ended up getting the trans to work but went to drive it around the block and noticed it was smoking alot and had a little miss. So I did a compression text and got over 160 on 5 and only 70 on the last one so that sucks. I think he may have f'ed it up and not mentioned it so that sucks gonna pull it aprt later this week and see : (

Well with the mods it had and lack of exhaust flow, a chipped piston was just waiting to happen.
