Some guy on a Grand Prix Facebook group just picked up a TVS blower off an 07 GT500 if I'm not mistaking.
With that being said, It can be done. And you're the man to do it.

Dan are you taking about Mike?
He's not putting it on a grand prix he's doing something with it for work.
Now that is an idea. The stock eaton m122 off of a gt500 does have a left side/front inlet. I've never looked at those before I was always looking at 112's. there is even a few on eBay under $500. gt500's must have had a tiny crank pulley stock because it looks like a stock m122 pulley is 3.0, there would be some challenges there. With a IC plate its unlikely that a hood would fit on it. I wish my mill was CNC. Would make it a lot easier to build a plate to bolt a real supercharger on a 3800 LIM. I don't understand why GM had to use their goofy ass bolt pattern for the m90 while ford/ jag, mercedes and everyone else just used a standard square or rectangle 4 or 6 bolt pattern even with the same blowers.
Router and phenolic would work too that's what ive thought about using anyways since I don't have access to a mill. But yeah the more gt500s they crank out the more and more superchargers become available. If someone could nail down a good setup for making them fit our engines I think a lot more people would stay supercharged. 500 bucks really isn't that much for a bigger SC considering people spend more for just an IC setup or heads.
A GT500 SC would be next best bet I think for cost wise after a gen5.
BTW once the sc has a hub on it who cares what the stock pulley size was..... just sayin
Pretty sure if it's an M90, M112, M122 etc...it's NOT a TVS. The M122 would be a bigger gen 5 supercharger not a more efficient TVS. The M models are cubic inches per revolution while the TVS are liters or cubic centimeters per revolution TVS is a 1900 or 2300 I think.
They take the M122 off to put on the more efficient blowers such as the TVS.

Yes the trinity 5.8s came with a silver tvs on top as factory the 5.4 has the m122. Depending what year the sc is from you could get a tvs take off.
Starting in 2013 the 5.8 has a 2.3 tvs supercharger on it.

If you were going to get one of the '13 TVS setups you would swing right back around to "just put a turbo on the damn thing". Thier going for $1500-$2000 just for the unit alone. I am much more interested in the M122. Whatever I do with a blower has to come out less than or equal to a turbo setup as far as $$$. I like the blowers and all but it just doesn't make sense to spend more to make less.
Give it time like all other mustang parts they get cheaper over time but yeah completely agree on price vs turbo. Only other option woud be troll some mustang forum classifieds. The m122 would still be awesome if it was easy enough to make it fit. Even then the m122 is alot bigger than a gen5 m90.
Real ticket would be finding a whole setup from someone with a gt500 thats going turbo and try use at least the fmic and pump that goes on the gt500 too if someone could score it as a package deal like people pick up as a "top swap" for these cars.
Yeah, but usually the only way it's going to become available is the car is no longer in good shape, lol... I would love to see one of those or a Whipple with an adapter plate attached to the Holden intake I've seen on sale here... Of course if it coincided with the TEP CTS tranny build on the 3800, would make for an interesting combo for sure.
Just saying! And no, my pockets can't handle such a build![]()
Cts tranny? I know a few peope were doing 4t80 conversions but havnt heard anything new in a while.A blower on the holden intake would sit really high but could be really awesome haha would def need a hole in the hood!
I've been looking at the parts all morning and I think you guys are really on to something here. Nothing about it would be easy though. Building and adapter to bolt a M122 to a 3800 LIM would be fairly straightforward, trying to fit a intercooler plate in there somewhere is where it will start to get complex. The stock gt500 core looks way too long to adapt to a v6, my s2 zzp core looks like it would be way too small to be under a 122 though. I guess a small IC would be better than no IC though. Plus the actual air outlet of the 122 doesn't appear to be much bigger than a M90. I could build something that just lines up with the outlet then build a plate with a 2" bead rolled pipe to line up with the bypass hole. Then tig another pipe to the end of the 3800 LIM then connect them with a piece of hose. Idk what the openings on the rotor bearing end of the 122 are for or what it would do with them blocked off. I definitely don't have enough cash to make this a reality this year being that the car has to be out and running in less than 2 months for the Buick raceday at Norwalk. I still have to freshen the trans and collect a few more small parts before then as it is. I might start collecting parts and working some stuff up for a next winter project though.
As long as your in no rush you can hold out for cheap parts id start trolling mustang forums. It would take me a while to list the forums i troll almost daily. Once i get home ill dig on 3800pro.com i think someone has done a gt500 sc swap on a 3800. I dont remember any pics of the adapter plate and im not sure if it was intercooled.
I found a pretty in depth thread on pro about putting a tvs1900 on. The guy bought all the hard pieces from harrop for way too much money though and it wasn't intercooled
Snowflake has a thread around here about putting a TVS on a Regal dare I even mentions this......................
That TVS he did was off a cobalt forum IIRC and it was the smaller 1320 size. It made some solid numbers non ic'd.
Now what it cost is an entirely different thread/day/story.
I think that regardless what he spent using a bigger one would be easier and cheaper to find but then we will start to get technical about how hard it needs to spin to be efficient.
Snowflake only ran it a couple months and then pulled it off and sold it. He said he was going turbo and or having tranny issues. He was also banned!
He had a great idea and the 1320 was small and easy to fit under our hoods but I don't no that he was giving us all the detail. TVS should be almost as efficient as a turbo.
