    Really? I was planning on deleting it with the U-bend and Cat.
    The pink and purple wires are completely disconnected from the socket. They don't even have pins

    I've heard it's kinda hit or miss if they act up without the rear o2 but have no experience there.

    So... What if I splice the wires for the second O2 into the first?

    I'd just buy a new rear o2 sensor.

    And you can buy a catted 3in downpipe so nothing will get messed up.

    I mean wire it so that both feeds are reading the first sensor. Seems possible, but I don't know how the computer reads it, so :/

    It's the connector that plugs into the sensor that's broken. As far as I know the sensor's fine.

    Care to explain why?

    Would it be better to delete the first O2 and keep the second, or do I actually need both even if I go catless?

    They do preform the same function. The front o2 takes care of fueling the rear is just for cat performance but in the 01+ they are needed unless turned off via tune because the computer on some of them dump fuel into the motor for a cat diagnostic.

    So the second one would have to be deleted with a tune if I went catless, right?
    Right now my car is running with the second O2 mostly disconnected, does that mean the computer's dumping extra fuel? Might explain my <20mpg

    Most likely yes. If you hooked it back up your gas mileage should increase quite a bit. All the extra fuel it's dumping will kill your cat as well.

    Another reason to go catless, I suppose

    Anyone know where I can get two pins for this connector, or maybe happen to have a spare connector laying around?

    We don't have an pick n pulls locally, unfortunately. Closest one requires you to have an escort
    Ill give them a call and see how much they want, though. All else fails I'll just bypass the connector and wire straight to the sensor

    That would work too. Just make sure you use solder and heat shrink. O2 sensors get finicky with butt connectors.

    I did the twist and tape on my friends grand am a while back because i forgot to grab my soldering iron and i told her to stop by sometime and i'll fix it. She hasn't been back over yet for me to fix it but told me it's running better lol.

    Might have to get it smoked tested where they put smoke in the evap lines and see where it's leaking at. It probably doesn't hurt anything though. You can get the code tuned out.
