They're not but they're easily interchangible. The GPs got 11" brakes while the Impalas got 12" brakes. Makes sense right lol

04+ impalas had duel piston brakes. they bolt on with no modifications and pads are cheaper then fbodys. Plus I got a decent deal on the calipers with resurfaced c.d/slotted rotors.

I really need to look into brakes of other GM models since I know nothing of it. I want an upgrade front and rear.

You might be able to get impala brakes for dirt cheap, but honestly unless you come across a good deal go fbodys. This way you get the weight savings, impalas are cast iron.

Good point. I've heard of some other GM models rears being an upgrade as well, I forget what though.

TMK only GXP was a rear upgrade. Skip the rear. Upgrade the fronts and you'll have no desire to worry about the brakes that only do 25% of the braking.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Found what I was thinking of, rear brakes off a Lucerne. I don't think that anyone has done it, only talk.

I cant put on an 04+ impalla breaks. unless they are the same bolt pattern, and the calipers will fit on my stock brackets.
