I wouldn't be able to do it. So as far as rebuilding whatevers damage in the motor right now or getting another one to swap in, and have it all installed will be a few grand. Which is what I'm leaning towards.

I was faced with this exact scenario for My bonne. And now my block is at the machine shop, I decided to rebuild vrs buy another used motor because I wanted to know what I was working with. So, going back together is actually My first step into modding. Cam, springs, retainers, locks, 180 tstat, modular pulley, headers, tb, maf. I already did trans work about 6mths ago. Chrom moly Pump shaft, 4th gear shaft, cpl extra steels in, etc.

Fix it and drive that beautiful rareish car.

Heck I think I saw an L32 with under 100k miles on it for less than $1100, might not be a bad idea to do an l32 swap...

Gotcha. If the cam bearing goes is the camshaft toast? Unsure if that would ruin my xp cam

Well haven't done a whole lot since the last update. Cars running so thats a good thing. Still need to get a WB gauge and have hopefully get it up to Josh come spring to tune it. Probably will need to get a cat to pass emissions coming up. Sad to say I miss the sparkling silver torque stars....if only they had the offset of the pregens.

Could, not sure how bad that would be tho on the wheels or the wheel bearing/hub. Not a huge deal.

Will prolly be getting retros done on my black housings. Starting to get sick of stock output. Although i did just reaim them and it helped some, but not enough. And I'll need to get my wiper blade motor/arm looked at. They will or will not always park at the bottom of the windshield. Sometimes they park maybe 5 inches up from the bottom, or even worse vertically upright, which annoys the ever living **** out of me. Wonder if it's the teeth in the wiper blade arms that look to be worn and are "skipping" on the splines the wiper blade arms are attached to on the cowl or if it has to do with the motor mechanism. Usually happens when it rains/snows. Or if I'm traveling with some wind resistance ahead them they'll skip and park abnormally. Huge PITA and I tore off the cowl a hand ful of times to try and correct it to make sure they park against the tab on the wiper arm motor mechanism, but that just temporarily solves the issue

I'm a fan of the torque stars over the 1st gen wheels.

Nice 83 SS in that one pic!

Damn.. You actually made the pre gens look good. I don't know why I didn't notice it before, but until I saw your pictures side by side, I wouldn't have thought there was that much difference.

Really I have to explain my compliment ? Lol

you made the pre gens look good. Maybe because being darker you don't have so much contrast between the rim and the chubby tire.
And the offset between them and the torque stars are quite noticeable. I never knew there was that much of a difference
