The other side will probably fall off soon enough. I was looking a little closer today and I have nothing to weld to to reattach it so I'm gonna have to mcgyver something together to make it work.
That might be the only way. I'll take pics later of what's not there anymore and might take off the other side and see how much is still holding it on. It looks terrible with the sideskirts off because they hide so much rust.
and they create so much rust too, looks like your inner and outter rockers are toast. and that "ladder" frame to hold the molding on.. without that it sags, you'd need 2 non rotted ones plus something to attach to.. its not easy, when i did this to my 99 i had bough new outter rocker skins, used structural adhesive epoxy and screws.. then had to fiberflass/bondo it smooth, then paint etc.. TOTAL pain... i say coat the hell out of it with POR15 then cover the rust with bedliner spray and ride out its days..
totally fixed it today lol
Tried welding in new metal but everything I welded to fell off so I said **** it and put a few screws in it.
That wins, dan.
Hands...down.
I'm no professional body man but I did stay in a Holiday Inn express last night.
Need to change thread title to "Dan's 98 trusty rusty gtp Getting lighter everyday"
Don't worry your not alone my right side sh1ts rust at least once a week haha.
I can't even look at it without rust falling off
That's natures way of telling you that your car has too much useless crap and some of it has got to go.
