That is a b.a. setup! Never seen that before
YAY GOOGLE!!!
According to the following link, this is a discontinued centrifugal supercharger kit. "Its a paxon novi 1000 supercharger, with a special bracket/shaft assembly built by ZZP. The novi's are like belt-driven turbos, but with no lag. They build boost with RPMs... easy on the tranny but still pull pretty hard when you jab it."
Looking at the pictures I thought it was the same car at first, lol then turned out it was a silver GP
Still badassery at its finest - look it!
FS: CSC - centrifugal supercharger kit (paxton novi 1000) for GT - Grand Prix Net
I think they should have kept them, no spooling or wait for boost, less weight and room consumption from the tubing, prefer the whine of a SC to the whistle of a turbo. I know a turbo has more capabilities with higher boost and overall #s but i think they should have kept the CSC's going
See I know what a csc is I just didn't know they made them for gps.
Novi 1000 and 2000...like Nick said...used to to be big...now they hardly exist anymore.
why is that? Cause turbo out did them? But why no Add power from belt drive, instead of exhaust? Nothing against turbo. Turbo can help with big power builds, but sc and csc is right away power....
turbo is instant power too if you size it correctly.
they rivaled turbo kits in price and since a turbo had the likelyhood of making much more power CSCs went to the wayside and never came back. i bet if you call ZZP they have a kit sitting on a shelf somewhere...
They were so good because they followed our torque curve/powerband...low and midrange.
They raped.
Well if they were so good, why get rid of them. What if i wanna by a gt also and csc it? I wonder what power this bad boy lays down? and isnt twin turbo like just used as back up? I know that it may help with torque, but not so much horse, the second turbo that is. Isnt it just like for relief for the engine and other turbo? dont know alot about turbo, only my m90.....
Twin turbo setups are made in different sizes becasue the small one spools the larger one...sequential setups. Look at the 2JZGTE in the TT Supra from the 90's.
CSC setups aren't around because they were as much as a turbo build...and turbo cars are faster...most of the time.
Drool
Yea. Also, in auto right now. Teacher said anything belt driving, robs the engine of power. The air from the exhaust is already leaving, so why not rob air thats already leaving.
