Keeping it clean is nearly impossible, except if I don't drive it. A wrap would not only protect the paint but I wouldn't have to worry about keeping it as clean either.

$900 if I help him do it. He's a friend of mine, been wrapping cars for about 3 years. $600 for just the material if I wanted to do it myself. I like the satisfaction of doing all my own work but he's good and I've never done anything more than some dash trim so It would be best to let him at least show me how to do it.

Go for it, I would like to see this.

Make a how-to on it, if not a bother.

i like the idea, but i just feel like it's wasting money. its whole purpose is to be thrown away in the end.

and you're the one that bought a black car, silly...

Just cake on the wax. You're ganna be rattled when you look at the wrap and want your gloss back.

$600 for the vinyl to wrap the whole car? That's a good buddy discount right there. My friend owns a vinyl shop and his wraps for most vehicles cost 1000-1200 in just materials. With labor he puts it around $3000-3500, but he does great work, and only uses the best stuff. He showed me some pretty rad stuff that he can order, it looks like paint, but it costs out the ass, nobody has put up the money for it yet lol.

Only because it was an awesome deal and I didn't know how bad Subaru's paint sucks haha.

It's got about 5 layers of Collinite (3 coats 845 IW and 2 coats of 476s Super Doublecoat) on it now, doesn't make much of a difference, the paint gets swirled if the wind blows.

He's hooking me up, he charges quite a bit more elsewhere. Pretty sure the vinyl is at his cost.

I say go for it. If you end up hating it after awhile just rip it off its not like we all haven't wasted money before hell we either own or at one point owned a Wbody and modded it. That's a waste of money.

If he knows how to do it then that's still quite a bit cheaper then what most places actually charge. If he wants a color change and doesn't want to spray plasti dip why not. It's matte white so it'll look right now if it was something like chrome yea that could be waste.

He's getting the vinyl from our friend who will help him while doing it just in case he gets into a sticky spot.
