I'm so excited I'm posting this picture again :D

That's a pretty slick deal. You gonna do it?

Re: My 2005 WRX STi - epic/stupid suspension build specs pg 24, post #476
im not sure i should. there are so many problems that come along with how low i ride, not including the cost of the coils themselves.

You're going to be looking at rebuilding them pretty often. What about rear spats, rocker moldings and that front lip you already have? You can make the car look a lot lower than it really is.

Re: My 2005 WRX STi - epic/stupid suspension build specs pg 24, post #476
im trying to score a set of side skirts already. rear/side spats kill me, i hate how they make the car flow.

Re: My 2005 WRX STi - epic/stupid suspension build specs pg 24, post #476
I don't like them ether but they make you look lower haha. I want a nice rear diffuser, but would liek it to actually be functional. You could go that route.

most of them have too much going on for me. im trying to clean up my look this year, which includes a lot of decal deletes.

by being clean and simple you'll set yourself apart from most of the other Impreza drivers haha.

Wanna hear a cool story? I'm telling it anyhow.
I started this thread one year ago today. Looking back I've done a decent amount of work, still have a lot I wish I could do but it will all come with time.
I cleaned the coilovers and started putting them together. I'm starting to think I might be able to get this stuff all done in one day, which would be awesome. Then I could get the alignment and start detailing it.

Re: My 2005 WRX STi - epic/stupid suspension build pics top of pg 25
Really once I started thinking about it there's not that much to do. Setting the height on the coilovers is going to be the hardest thing to do. Installing them won't be bad at all, I've done this all before (albeit on different cars, but if anything this should be easier since the car is newer and not rusted to hell and back).
The gauges aren't going in, I might just sell them. I bought a fitting for the EGT sensor and its not right. I've been searching for one for 6+ months now and I'm tired of it. I'll buy new.

I fully expect something to go wrong, by the way. Something always does. I'll deal with it though, I've become pretty proficient with making things work after doing some pretty jank stuff in the past. This time I have air tools so problems can come at me.

Re: My 2005 WRX STi - epic/stupid suspension build pics top of pg 25
Just bought a new set of tires this morning, Continental ExtremeContact DW in 235/45/17. The Yokohama S-Drives that are on my GTC01s have some cupping/wear on the insides that makes them so loud I though I had bad wheel bearings in the back. When I put my winter wheels/tires on the sound went away completely. I haven't decided what I'm going to do with the S-Drives, they still have plenty of treadlife left, they're just loud. I might beat the crap out of them and wait until they're toast to mount the DWs or I might dismount them and try to sell them. DiscountTireDirect had an online sale going on them that ends tomorrow so I went for it, $518 shipped for that set of 4 tires isn't bad at all.

Did you finally install those coils?

Re: My 2005 WRX STi - epic/stupid suspension build pics top of pg 25
Everything is installed. Ran into a lot of problems and the coilovers still need adjusted but the hard part is done.

Re: My 2005 WRX STi - epic/stupid suspension build pics top of pg 25
Just took it out for a test drive...wow. I can't wait to get the alignment done and get this thing on a track.
