Some dealer probly put that on the title to make a few extra bucks.

GM could have done what they did with the 02 Camaro's. All 02 camaro's have the 35th anniversary logo on them even though the 35th anniversary camaro had an entire different look. So it's possible that all 02's grand prix's are 40th anniversary even though they do not have the anniversaryt package.

probably what it was title doesnt say 40th but some of the paper work at dealership did. i know its not the purple gtp one. like i said just got the car last week, first time ive ever even owned a car let alone a gp so sorry if i don't know allot.
