Yea. It's going to be Purpletrator reborn.
Been an awful lot of guests watching this thread today...hmmm.
Just out of curiosity but did you ever do your LEDs in the cluster with the 6LE gauges? Also do you remember where you got the sound deadener?
I haven't yet no. I still plan to. I also need to pull the overlay back off and put some foam around all of the boxes inside to keep the light from bleeding out. I wasn't aware that'd happen when I put it in. So when I use like the blinkers some of the cluster lights up lol.
The stuff in the doors and trunk is Second Skin and the stuff on the floor/rear deck is Peel n Seal from Lowes
Yeah the bleeding effect is common over on the ls1tech with those that bought them from 6LE.
I'm kicking around the idea of sound deadening mine over the winter break from my job. I will have 2 weeks off so I am not sure what to go with.
Honestly that Peal N Seal stuff works pretty good. I just wouldn't use it on any vertical surfaces cause it doesn't stick as good as something like the SS does. SS is about half the price of Dynomat BTW.
Guz have you seen a fix for the cluster bleed? Anyone done the foam like I want to?
I haven't seen anything. I have seen that it is pretty common with 6LE gauges. Foam may be an option.
It dampens vibrations and keeps new noises/rattles from appearing. Helps with sound deadening some but that's not it's main purpose. They make specific noise dampeners for that. Which I may end up getting. Who knows.
And thanks. It'll look better again once I drop it, hopefully on bags
Oh good.
Send me pictures.
I'd like to do this in the GXP but god knows anything about that cluster.
Well..idk anything about the 04+ clusters but i'm sure the bulbs are replaceable just like the 97-03's. All it is is talking the incandescent bulbs out and putting LED's in them.
