At least he listened to me for once and got a good tire![]()
They are going to look great installed! What kind of offset are you running? Going to be able to tuck them?
yeah, i'll be able to tuck them without much issue. they are 18x8.5 +35mm wheels. they sit pretty flush with the fenders. i'll be able to run pretty low with minimal 'extra' camber. going to shoot for ~1.5* of camber all around and tuck a little tire.
coilovers and side skirts getting installed this afternoon. more pictures later. i want to clean up the wheels before i put them on, though.
That is going to look really clean man! Sideskirts made a huge difference when I installed some on my legacy!
back home with the coilovers on. LOVE how they handle.
still need to dial in the ride height to how i want it exactly, but its within 1/4" all around right now of where it needs to be. right now i am at full length with about 3/4" up front and 1" in rear to go before they are all the way down. however, that'd force me to droop the springs (no tension on them at full droop) and i'm not sure i want to do that yet.
like the low, side skirt is meh
they ride stiffer than the springs i had, that's for sure. they ride way, way better than the old set of coilovers, though. they have enough give to roll slightly in a hard corner, but once they grab they are solid and feel great. i've only driven the car a little bit, but i think i am going to be very satisfied with them. once i get an alignment and everything dialed in how i want i will give them a better pounding.
the old stuff (since they were a 'stock style') was a little quieter. my wheel bearing in the rear really pronounced itself now that there isn't as much of a buffer between the wheel well and the interior of the car. the old setup was a rubber mount as well as a metal cap that goes over them to insulate the interior even more. the metal cap will go back on once the alignment is done, but i need access to them (camber plates) for now. i think i am going to have to push my alignment back until i dial in the ride height how i want it and fix the wheel bearing.
the crappy part is that i'd love to tuck a little tire, but in order to do that i'll have to droop the springs or get a longer set of helper springs so i can bottom out the locking rings. i might just leave them how they are now and just make sure the heights are all even.
where he wheels lol
