Re: My 04 turbo colorado (build, destroy and rebuild thread)
Get well soon, then get the truck well again too!

Re: My 04 turbo colorado (build, destroy and rebuild thread)
so i tweaked the timing a bit and got it running decently under boost now with minimal knock, i think it's burst knock (sudden increase in air mass).. so anyways it's running but theres still some stumbling under part throttle.. but rather than risk blowing it up again im gonna have it tuned by a pro on my vacation in 2 weeks

Re: My 04 turbo colorado (build, destroy and rebuild thread)

Re: My 04 turbo colorado (build, destroy and rebuild thread)

No. Might as well skip it and go LQ4/LQ9 and LS3 top end with a GMPP hot cam. Real mild, real cheap, plenty powerful. For a start that is.

Re: My 04 turbo colorado (build, destroy and rebuild thread)
For the money I'd just do a heads cam LS1 and be done...

You'd be doing it wrong.
LS1's are still worth 1500-2000.
LQ4's are $800-1000 all day long.
You get more cubes for less money, able to use cheap heads that flow better.
Whats not to like?
Iron block.

Re: My 04 turbo colorado (build, destroy and rebuild thread)
an ls9 would be a joke in my tiny truck and i can't afford a $23k engine, let alone all the work it would take to get the power to the ground
there's an 07 TBSS in the local yard with 57k on it, complete engine, trans, transfer case and all accessories for $6k... Hmmmmmmmmmmm

Re: My 04 turbo colorado (build, destroy and rebuild thread)
LQ blocks could hold up better if boost/n20 are used from what ive seen lately
