I am using a -8 return line(quite a bit bigger than the -4 feed line)....and the turbo actally sits 5.7" higher than the oil level sensor hole in the pan. this will allow for adequite oil return.

However....there is that 15% chance I will have a problem. at which point I will have a seperate oil tank that the oil will feed into from the turbo....from there I will have a seprate oil pump to pump it from the container..through an external oil cooler, then back into the oil pan.

very good eye Trannyman!!! I spent an entire day going over the oilling system......I hope I have all the kinks out of it.

right now I am worried about my trans......I will be dropping off my spare here within the next month(if all goes according to my dimwitted plan)

    long live your spare trans!

Ok good, glad you thought of that! I am suprised there is that much drop from the turbo to the pan and that you have a backup plan in mind!

well, the main plan right now is being able to race(100%) it at Branson for the first time in front of everyone. In June(hopefully) ZZP has there aluminum heads out, or if not get some beta testers where I'd like to be one of them asap. and if Not...Intense stage 4's since everyone else is making decent power with them...and also to spite ZZP for not releasing them last year like they had originally planned.

BUT...3 years in the making this next month. I will have the car able to drive, idle around town this next month to break in my bottom end. that way I have all the rings seated by the time I go for dyno...then I will swing by Dave's in the GTP on the way out...drop of my trans for race rebuild...drive out to Dyno Brians shop for dyno. then ater a week out there...swing back by..install new trans for break in on that..and head home.

Trannyman- not sure how long it takes you to rebuild a trans...sending you a pm today.

I have had a big smile on my face this entie week. I have visited the shop at least 10times to see progress.

I can't remember what zzp did with their return lines, you should ask them.

ZZP's car just got the front end tubed, I think when it ran 9's it was just the rearend that was gutted and tubed. They still have a stock bottom end too, and just put on a different cam. I think once you hit 10's on a fwd car, it may be a lot harder to get those extra .1 of a second out of it.

I think the location of the turbo will be very cool! I'm sure if you put temp. sensors on a z7 kit inside the engine bay the turbo location in the fog lamp would be A LOT cooler. The cold air intakes try to get as near to this location as they can. Like you said, you can also play around with the air dams. With the turbo letting the exhaust dump hardly a foot away, your not keeping any heat in or pressured, so they would be colder.

yeah, if I run into a snag...it would be a good idea to ask them since they have already done it.

I will have more pics up here by the end of the week. should be very close to completion.

Thanks everyone for thee coments..and keep them coming!!

so I backed you up on the clubgp thread, a lottt of haters, I was surprised to see all the disrespectful and stupid comments on there. Especially when matt called it a joke. But you can see most of the guys that have done custom projects before supported you...

    ok here are updated pics:

here is the pic of it when I rolled it out(better lighting)

the charge piping is being tig welded up at the welding shop next door. I was shown pics of it today. looks NICE!

here is the FMIC mounting. the hood latch mount is welded and bolted to this bar. so I wont have any hood incidents...

we had to modify/ add a bracket to hold the coils on an angle..this way my MAF will fit off the TB.

Here is where the batery used to sit. it is now located in the trunk.

here is the drivers side where the exhaust will go to the turbo...

here is a pic of the engine bay..still a work in progress...still need to run fuel lines to the new FPR and rails:

When you said you had an idea for a new way to route the exhaust, I had no idea

Its looking good. Looks like its starting to all come together for ya. Cant wait to hear this thing fired up and see it go down the track. Just be sure to tune it real well.

i know it's pretty much a track car, and others have speculated, but im scared by the proposition of no bumper support.

its no different than on any other street raced Fbody in chicago/rockford. heck my new formula doesnt have a front bumper support. nor did my camaro. all I have to worry about is what is in front of me. the rear is still in as well as the door bars. well more than I can say for my formula but ..OH WELL!!!!
