Well, short story is, my trans is going out. That's according to these so-called "experts" on here, Scotty and Corey. I don't know about those guys . But they claim your trannys are da best. I read your Trans Build thread a couple times now when on the train commuting home. My initial thought was to re-build it myself but I'm not sure that's something I want to tackle anymore.

Is there any inkling of a want to build another 4T65E-HD for a hardcore Grand Prix junkie? I rebuilt this hooptie in the back of a parking lot, don't forget. I know you got your hands full with the K10. I'm in no hurry tho. I can wait. Gonna drive it till it blows. PM me if you prefer.

If I didn't have so many irons in the fire, I might consider building another trans. Currently work, chores, and the K10 build are keeping me pretty busy.

If you're even considering the idea of building one yourself, I would highly recommend that. For most guys, not having the special tools are the roadblock. I've offered more than once to "loan" my tools to anyone willing to tackle a build, and that offer still stands. All you would need at that point is a decent workbench. You could build 4 with the money you save by doing your own trans build. I'd be happy to help you out along the way. I still have all the special part numbers and separator plate drill sizes filed away somewhere. I love seeing guys tackle a new project and add a skill to their life resume.

I hear ya. There's just not enough time in the day. I really appreciate the offer to loan your tools, and help out. Hmm.... It's just all those God damn springs and things. Buying the repair manual is probably my first step. Another option I'm considering is driving down to TEP and buying a trans for 1,100 clams. They don't even need the core. I might chicken out and do that. Need to sleep on it some more. I like the challenge of the rebuild as it was my first thought. Would be very satisfying.

Bad New Bears. On a WOT run on the highway from 44 to 88, I felt a **blipp** while accelerating and SEL started flashing. Reader said Misfire on 4. Continued driving car till lot. Runs rough now. In the video I say cylinder 3, its really 4.

Upon closer review of the video, at minute 1:46, you can see the boot sticking out quite a bit. A quick Google search identifies that as Cylinder 4. Once engine cools down, I'm gonna got back to the lot and check it out.

The misfire was being caused by the wires somehow falling onto the headers. Hence the plastic burning smell I described.

Corey. This is exactly what you were saying.

you need to route them up, use a wire clip thing to hold them all tight up and away from the manifolds.

They've been zipped down good! That's not happening again.

Other than this, it has been running well. Getting about 3* KR when WOT after 70mph. Max Ive seen from the blower is 7psi.

Haha. Sounds like you really want it gone. I'd buy it off ya Hurtz. I really would. I definitely want that car, but I got nowhere to keep it. It doesn't make sense. Plus, life at home would be miserable for like 6 months till it blew over...

Women wants in the garage, so its just gonna end up sitting on the side of it, something I dont want. Sell the parts off it scrap the shell and the transmission would end up paying you

Was out driving yesterday and the misfire on cylinder 4 is still there, despite securing the wires. Maybe that wire got damaged when it was sitting on the manifold...? Need to take a better look at the actual wire. Car is running like crap, chugging along. It barely stays running at idle. At one point Aeroforce flashed 192 misfires. 192!! Is that even possible?

192 misfires is easy, idle is 650 revolutions a minute so....... Get a new set of wires.
