And disregard the rusty caliper, I'm waiting for a break in the snow to go grab the 07 impala's calipers from the JY. Lol
Good deal for Good years'...Keep 'em rotated...From a former Goodyear "tire technician" 86-88.
Yeah these will get more attention than the old ones did... The blizzaks came with the car and by the time I learned that they wear down fast during summer, they were already more than halfway gone.
So I said eff it, did a standing burnout, and got all seasons. Lol
Sent from a broken phone.
Having been in Cali for 5 days, I've decided that I hate this state.
Not because of anything the state or people living here have actually done, but because everyone here has really clean, shiny cars and mine is sitting in AK covered in dirt, road grime, snow and ice...and won't be clean until May or June of next year.
No offense to any members currently living in Cali or any other southern state that isn't covered in snow right now but...
F*ck you all. :p
I ordered a TCS switch and door/trim clips... Hopefully soon I'll be able to strip the interior and deep clean it.
VIVA TIRES.
LOL snow.
Sorry.
Eh. They were cheap.
It happens alot here.
It's k.
At least they say Goodyear on them. LOL
My last set of snowies were Wanli. They were great for the $50 each I paid for them. Ran them for 6 winters, then sold them on the crappy snow-flake wheels for $200. Win win!
Well these are all seasons, just because finding cheap wheels up here is difficult at best.
There are very few W-bodies with steels in the jys up here, otherwise I'd be buying blizzaks for those, the ice pack up here is slick enough to warrant needing the extreme snow tires.
On another note, my passenger side rear window has started to wiggle when it's going up. It's only once it reaches the top, and it's just once back and forth, but it's enough to convince me I need to hurry up and strip the interior soon, head off any problems before they start.
What would most recommend for coating the inside of the doors? I'm thinking just spraying some rattle can rubberized coating and maybe sticking some foam backing in them... And I think I'm going to clean up all of the window regulators and spray them with something to keep them from getting messed up by the salt again when this car gets shipped. Again.
Well today was fun.

I got "t-boned" by a Hyundai Sonata, he slid on the ice through a stop sign.

Another reason why I love my GP. She can take a hit and shrug it off like a boss.
Good to know they can take a bump the weather here is starting to get there and my wife even in the summer has no understanding of what traction is and how it works she once accelerated hard while turning left and when the car understeered she freaked out and asked me what was wrong with her car :( needless to say I don't ride with her inher car or let her drive my car in the winter haha

You should send her to a defensive driving class... Honestly I think everyone needs to go to one as a requirement for a licence.
That's why I didn't hit anything else after getting t boned, because I knew how to steer through a slide and regain control of the car...when you see oncoming traffic out of your passenger window the pucker factor is extreme. Lol
ive had serious arguments with assholes who are scared to drive in snow, im go in a wide open unplowed lot and spin the car out till you learn how to save it. then i get the thats dumb look and the fight is on. im like would you rather have the car slide and know what to do to correct it, or? would you rather be a scared pos asshole on the road or maybe off in the ditch? i got a problem with pu$$ys who cant drive or take direction when im trying to help them.
I agree 100 percent but their just ain't no talking to this one haha. I figure she needs to total a car she is actually paying for before she will understand insurance is not going to pay for you being an idiot. I'm glad nobody got hurt in your accident looks like it could have gone worse.

My wife is slowly getting to the point that she is willing to do donuts in a parking lot... I got her to spin out once and bring it back before she freaked out. Lol
Yeah, in that split second before his car actually hit mine I saw it ending much worse than it did. I'm so thankful that nobody got hurt.
But, Lady Luck has a crush on me this week apparently. Lol I got a call from the insurance company earlier today, the other guy claimed 100% liability, so I'm not going to have to pay a single cent for the repairs. And I get a free rental.
Awesome, might I recommend the new impala 3.6 as a rental, we got one when the 04 was in the shop and boy does the 305hp really move that thing around.

I might not get a rental... The insurance only pays $50 a day for one, and it's doubtful that enterprise has one for less than that. But I've got the wife's car to drive while mine is in the shop, and it's better than any rental I could get for that price.
I think I'm going to switch to a different repair shop, the one USAA set up hasn't called me yet and I got a recommendation for a different one that's closer and does really good work. I've seen the quality of their work up close, it really is top notch.
Onto another subject, I sold some stuff that was collecting dust in my basement and instead of buying car parts with that money, I bought video games and some fur lined Deadpool socks. Priorities, am I right? Lol
Got the inspection done by the repair shop, estimate is $2,181.27 for a new bumper and paint.
I pay $0.00 in total. Nada. Zip.
It's been an ok day.
