Not sure why I waited so long. Got this 09 Stryker Blue G8 GT. Still have the 02 GTP as well.

81k on it. Got it for a far price. Cant wait to start modding it. Here it is.uploadfromtaptalk1452821629574.jpguploadfromtaptalk1452821663741.jpguploadfromtaptalk1452821678590.jpg

Always had a hard time deciding between that and the Ignition Orange Metallic for favorite color, then again, it's a G8, who cares what color it is, lol.

    Congrats on the purchase!

@Burb, its an L76. For the longest time I thought the G8 GTs had LS2s in them, lol.

They make DOD delete kit for that.

First purchase is a WB and some sort of gauge pod, not sure which pod or gauge setup yet so I can tune it. Also upgrading my HPTuners to the pro.

Yeah pinning the crank isn't needed unless you are putting some extra extreme force on the balancer, like a whipple/TVS blower.

If anything I'd do the normal GM LS tuning that gives you back what they rob away from everyone, but it's for reasons that are clear (they want everyone to be able to drive it). I bet you can gain 15-20hp back with a intake tube and tune.

Some disable the DoD because the L76 has a bad rep for failing because of the early technology. 2010+ models of afm/dod motors are less prone to failure.

And the 6L80e transmission is whole different beast compared to the 4L60/80e that came before it.

I just assumed pinning the crank was one of those preventative mods. I drilled one for a guy. All he had done to his was a CAI, set of long tubes and a tune, no blower. He was still spinning the balancer, and backing out the crank bolt.

Unless he was telling stories, but I'm not sure why he would pay me to drill the crank, if it wasn't a problem. I don't know. Just going off what he said.

Anyhow, congrats on the new ride!

I'd blame the balancer there or his stories lol. Most of the turbo guys don't even pin them because there isn't any extra force on the pulley.

I do have a wobble in my crank pulley and the ac tensioner is shot. Plus the dealer jacked up the tint on the rear when trying to remove the window sticker. Then proceeded to try to pass it off on me as if I may not notice. They are taking care of it but you wonder why they get a bad rap.....when you pull stuff like that.

Also just for grins I had then make me an offer on my 02 GTP for a trade in. They offered me $800. One reason was the "whining" noise when they drove it. I called the salesman out on it. He had a pic of his late model racecar and his 69 RS camaro at his desk. He said he was a car guy, well I called bull**** on him and told him not to insult me because any "car guy" should know that it was supercharger whine. I had them wrap up the sale pretty quick after that.

    nice car, lame transmission.

it's probably one of the bigger reasons why i don't have a G8: no manual unless i pay out the butt for a GXP.

Good thing the GXP's are getting cheaper than the CTS V2's right now.

    But...27-32k for a V8, NA, boat...with 80k+ miles? No thanks.

Huge fan of the color though, OP.

    Good choice.
