    Just bought a silver '99 GTP - she needs some TLC cosmetically [tried to buy it outside the salt belt, but ended up with one from Indiana], but mechanically is quite sound and the previous owner had done some work to it; SLP header, cat delete, ZZP cold air intake and a pulley swap. Also, the guy had parted out a '97 GTP so he gave me a bunch of parts - and I don't even know what some of them are for, lol.

    Welcome! Great forum, sure you will find a wealth of info. If you were looking for unsolicited opinions I can tell you what your first de-mod should be

    Well that Hoosier car looks good from here and i can see every part in the trunk but i'd have better luck naming all 50 states. Welcome and congrats on the new ride.

    Thanks for the warm welcome, guys! I've done a lot of reading here the past few weeks, and its been quit enlightening. If my mechanic brother can't identify anything I'll be sure to post a picture saying, "what is this thing", lol.

    @bandook
    Please, do tell - I'm hoping to learn a lot more about these cars now that I finally own one!

    @Fivefinger
    I'm about 3 hours northwest of there, just north of Fergus Falls a bit.

    I was gonna recommend to "de-mod" that bra Personally I think they are fugly, not to mention what they do to your paint. Ignore me if you're partial to it for sure.

    But looks like your mod money is right there in your trunk. You have about everything to sell for a complete top swap. Or you might want to use those heads to have them ported as well as the lim and blower. What size pulley you have on now?

    @LS,
    Thanks! I certainly hope not!

    @bandook,
    I totally agree - first thing I did after taking that picture was to remove it and throw it in a deep dark corner of the garage, and find out the bumper has a crack in it - go figure.

    I need to use that money to fix the paint and rust! I'm just reading the top swap guide here on gpf, but would it possible to tell me what it is, does, and what it takes in layman's terms in a not-very-long post so I can see if I understand what's being said on the guide? :P I believe it's a 3.4", but where exactly do I measure it? Tried to find out on the internet but didn't see anyone saying where to measure... I'm a noob at most of this!

    Additionally, I plan on probably leaving this one alone mechanically and after I give it some TLC and fix it up cosmetically - probably sell it next spring and try to make some money so I can spend more on the next GP. In the future I'll probably do mods on that car or future GPs (I intend to buy and sell a few so I can spend more later), from my trunk full of parts is there anything I should keep? I was planning on selling most of it on eBay (unless there's a better place to) since I can sell for free right now or something like that. But, I need to make sure I know what everything is - so here's a picture so I can accept Bill's offer to identify everything in my trunk! I can post more specific pictures too, if needed. Also, the guy is sending me another box of parts - so next week I'll find out what else I got.

    Also, took a quick picture of the engine.

    Oh, and I was curious if the sheaths on the dual exhaust on 04+ come off? If so, can I put those tips on this car? I think the stock ones looks pretty bleh, and I was looking for a cheap way to put black duals on.
