Auto headlights will go off with the e brake, I believe it has to be set before the ignition gets turned on. So to turn them off, you have to shut it off, push the e brake, and start it back up. Might as well have just left it off at that point, kind of a waste. Also it's important for me to have manual control because I have hid's, and starting my car at night turns them on, cranking turns them off, and when it starts, back on. I am not going to use the e brake every time I start my car at night lol.

I'm actually working on something to prevent this. I'll have something in a few days that will delay the headlights from turning on for a second or 2.

The relay harness should have this built in already. They start up instantly, turning the key as fast as I can, and often they still blink

I just got the schematic I needed from Jeff so I'll get it built here pretty soon and see how it works out.

It'll work, but if you need 2 seconds use double the value I gave you. If you need any let me know.

Will do, waiting for a callback from my dad to see if he has any. That PSU I strip parts from only has 2200uF. There's 4 so I'd get close, but we'll see. I'd be surprised if he didn't have any.

I did this to my brothers 03. Worked just fine and he has full control of headlights. No more auto headlights and DRL's are disabled. The headlights will still flash when unlocking with the key fob.

Unplugging will do what you said. I just disabled the yellow wire, which disables just the headlight. Looks like you may have disabled "flash to pass".

I can always mess with the harness and remove the auto headlight pins, and plug it back in.
Why did anyone ever mess with resistors? Lol

Yep pretty much, and I'm not convinced yet to spend like 150+ on OEM ballasts but I'd be so nice....

Sub'd. I have a timer delay relay for the fogs that I have to install.

No doubt. I know backnblack was into electronics, so he must look at problems differently. He has done lots of cool things.

That sucks. I e-mailed him a few weeks ago with a question, but got no reply. Now his domain is for sale. Guess he moved on.

From what I remember..... you unplug the light sensor on the dash and put a resistor in it to fool the sensor to think it was daylight all the time.

Remove the auto headlights fuse in the passenger glove box, and unplug the writing harness going to the bcm for the headlights.
