So I totalled my 07 gt and now i'm looking at buying an 07 gxp. I'm pretty familiar with the l32 and l67 engines but don't know my way around the 5.3L v8 in the gxp. I've been googling on things to look for but since I'm under a time constraint since I need to buy a car fast before my rental runs out, can you guys help me with some quick pointers on what to look for? the one i'm looking at has 70k miles. Any help is appreciated.

    Oil burning.

DoD needs shut off (Displacement on Demand)

They eat up hubs like 3800 cars.

DBW throttle body cars need the TB cleaned often; just like your old L32.

Transmission needs to be factored in ASAP, a built one...or pray a shift kit, pan drop, and a cooler bandaids it long enough.

Antenna in front is known to leak, which causes the roof line to fill with water and pour down into the cup holder or around there. Remove and reseal with RTV.

My car had 50k~ when I bought it, did all those things. Hub's are still good...it isn't burning oil, but everything else I've had to address.

I have to tune out DoD? Not really sure what that is, saw it mentioned in a few posts though. And it's gonna be a daily driver so i'm hoping the cooler and shiftkit are enough too.

DOD = Displacement On Demand also known as cylinder deactivation. Helps to have it tuned out.
