blower motor going bad?

if you turn the fan speed to 5 or high, you hear the fan running, but you can barely feel anything come out. the air gets hot but doesn't blow hard. is it the motor?

something may have fallen out of the glove box and into the fan. envelopes are good for this act. they can block the air if they fall in the right place.

well my dad did drop a fuse down there one time so do you think that could cause the problem

not a fuse.

take the glove box off and drop the under dash panel and see whats going on in there. maybe its not working on 5 like it should.

that would be a bad resistor most of the time.

it doesn't blow hard on any setting. the only one that works well is 1 cause that what it blows at at all times! ill look into it in the spring cause its cold out and don't really wanna do work right now. what if everything is all clear and nothing is being blocked? then what should i do

it take like minutes to take the foot panel off and the hinge for the glove box. see if its spinning on full. or if its blocked.

if its only working like it should on 1 and 2 that could be a bad resistor. and you need to take the same stuff off to get to it anyways.

the assembly itself is only like 40 bucks so i wouldn't mind buying a whole new one but is it easy to instal?

well the fan spins faster when you turn the knob. on 5 it spins at full speed but doesn't blow anything if that helps a little. the fan speeds are right just not the blowing power

Well this was me replacing my blower motor about a year or so ago, not exactly fun but not hard either. I found a flexable extension made it really easy to get the bolts off as its such an awkward position.

When you go to change the zones for like your face or feet can you feel/hear it change? Like if you set it to blow on the front defrost only can you actually feel it blowing when on max, same with only the foot and other positions? I want to say the motor is probably fine but I'm not sure. Maybe the fins on it are broken or something but I haven't seen that before.

yeah you can here the different zones change. i haven't tried doing full speed on only feet. ill see if that works. if it blows hard on that setting i wonder if the top air duct is blocked or something but i highly doubt that

Mine seems to be the same way it blows air pretty weak from the top vents but for the defrost and feet its fine.

hmmm. honestly id probably just replace the entire assembly cause its old and probably worn out. id just have to wait until spring to do this if i decide too though. if that doesn't solve the problem then the air way has to be clogged up
