    Hey guys and gals,

Decided to join instead of lurking in the shadows and reading. I recently bought a 2000 GTP Daytona and was looking into doing some mild upgrades and meeting people with a common interest in the things. Little about the car, its bone stock except an intake and a hideous set of rims from the previous owner. About me, I'm a father, husband, mechanic for the state and off and on shade tree mechanic for 16 years. Looking forward to meeting you guys and learning more about the potential of these cars. (Youtube and reading can only show you so much, I want to feel it! LOL) Thanks for having me!

Thanks for the replies. This is my first one and I must say the more I drive it the more I like it. It needs upgrades in a bad way. I've been reading about every thread I can find. I'm thinking a downpipe and full catback, 3.4 pulley, colder plugs, and a tune will put it about where I want it. I got a few after holiday bills to straighten out and I'm going to start digging in.

Skip the catback, you will be flushing money down the toilet.

Once you really hear a 3800 with exhaust you will hate it unless you like stuff sounding like ****. And there is no performance gain for 95% that mod their cars, they never flow enough air to max the 2.25 exhaust size.

Only reason I considered getting a catback is because both of my mufflers at spilt down the seam of the outside welds. I'm guessing age had something to do with it because it doesn't look deliberate. I'm not real big on loud exhaust. Is there a benefit over keeping a dual muffler setup instead of switching to a single and what would you recommend on using to keep the sound down but not cut out any performance.
