2001 GT. the car doesn't start as soon as it should. every car i see on youtube starts like right away. Yes i know its youtube and they had the car running earlier, but i can assure you that most cars will start almost instantaneously. Mine takes like 2 seconds to start. I can hear the pump working when I turn the key. in winter when I turn the key on in the winter, the pump makes weird noises and its kind of loud. I'm assuming because its cold out. is that why?. The car turns over but doesn't seem to "catch" right away. I don't want to do a fuel pressure test on it unless I absolutely have to. its not the battery because i got a new one (not because i thought that was it, it needed a new one) and its still not starting right away. I don't think its the starter because from what I've read a sign of a bad starter is it making a noise like trying to start the car while its running. I think its fuel related. can anyone help me? i see no gas leaks. car has 121xxx miles and the lady who owned before me said that it took that long to start even hewn she owned it. help

Its hard to say really..My 2001 gt with 58k miles starts like that the other day..It was 2 degrees out, and 20 mph wind, so give or take -20 out, but it still started after a second or two. Same case with the 2004 gt i have with 166k, it didnt start on command, took a second. I do believe when its that cold, its harder to start, if you have a block heater, i would plug it in and it should start just fine with its in the same range as my temps i had the other day.

it also doesn't start right away in the summer or warm weather. no matter what weather it is it doesn't start right away. it actually will start faster in the cold, but still doesn't start right away
