    Hi guys,

this is my first time posting on this forum, but I have learned a lot by reading various threads. I have a 1998 GTP that I did a head gasket job on about ~8 months ago. It was running perfectly fine until about a month ago, I was driving and hit a pot hole on the street, after that it started misfiring. I checked the exhaust manifold, and it was cracked, so I changed it. The problem is still there though. (P0300)

    Problem:
I checked for spark, and the coil(first one on bottom) is not firing at all. I tried replacing the coil, but nothing. Could it be the ICM, if bad, none of the coils would fire, right? The car has been sitting for a month now!

The ICM can be dead on just 1 coil pack but work on the other 2.

Maybe that pothole cracked something inside it. Swap it with another 3800 ICM if you know someone with another to see if that fixes it.

Call around local parts stores and see if they have a ICM tester. The NAPA I worked at had one

I'm going to try a different ICM to see if that fixes it. I wasn't sure if an ICM being bad would only be bad for one coil, I would have thought it not functioning at all.
