I know guys in Canuckville etc that blocked and never had a problem. I've had blocked coolant ports for the better part of 6 years w/o issues.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

nah I'm trying to find tutorial on pulling the side cover so I can get the 4th hub out. I thought I saw one here on the website I cant find it. anyone know where it is?

also while im in there what else should I replace the torque converter solenoid? if I keep the valve body intact what gaskets would I need?

Probably some solenoids in it that are worth doing to prevent problems down the road. Trans guys should know exactly what you would want to do.

I dropped the subframe but do I need to use two jacks? one under the trans? and then disconnect the trans mount and lower the subframe even more so I have access to lower bolts?

ok Ill search his user name, but I figured it out. just put wood under the tranny and then took tranny mount off and lowered subframe more so I can get access to the torx bolts. I'm almost inside just looking for where I put my impact torx.

ok I got it out and sure enough the hub splines are shredded.

before I place this order I just wanted to confirm. I ripped one of the gaskets behind the valve body when taking it off. So I have to replace that. The hub im getting a hardened one off ebay. The clutches look great so Im not replacing them. The side cover gasket looks good too. From what I read replace the tcc and pcs but if the shift solenoids are working fine then don't bother to change them.

I forgot to check the splines on the pump shaft. Where does it wear? where it goes into the pump? that side looks fine.

here is my list from rock auto ( remember the hub I bought from ebay)

i cant help on your parts list but check that harness to the tcc, it likes to break, maybe change it for the hell of it while its out.

if that axle seal was not leaking leave it. you can run into issues getting the right size one. seen a few guys get either wrong size or wrongly listed seals.

done deal! Wasn't so bad. ( besides me forgetting to put the plastic oil dam in and having to drop the subframe again to take the cover off.)

    Thanks for everyones help.

    to summarize

I got a hardened splined 4th hub off ebay.
I bought pcs and TCC solenoids to put in while I was in there.
and I bought channel plate gaskets.

That's all that was needed the sun gear turned out to be fine.

Ok here's this gt newbs final report.

Here the list of everything I had to do to the car to get it road worthy ( then a few things I might still have to do). Don't forget the car sat for 2 years before I got it.

    1. Ignition switch faulty, tumbler stuck, replaced both.
    2. tranny cooler line leak fixed
    3. valve cover leak ( both sides), replaced
    4. LIM leaking oil onto the trans. Replaced it and put aluminum elbows in.
    5. power steering rack filling up boots with oil. ( replaced with unit from detroitaxle)
    6. tie rod ends.
    7. abs wire broken on drivers front wheel causing abs/traction off lights.
    8. tail light bulbs/ license plate.
    9. 4th gear/OD clutch hub replacement ( stripped and the car had no overdrive)
    10. windshield washer pump replaced.
    11. both lower control arms ( only 1 was bad rotted through in one portion)
    12. resonator rotted through, replaced with straight pipe.
    13. a/c leak. valve core replaced and system refilled.
    14. first day owning the car the passenger front brake line blew right where it runs along the bottom of the firewall on drivers side, fixed.

    Then pending stuff is

    1. repair rocker rust. all 4 strut towers look excellent. floorboards too. just the rockers are shot.
    2. may possibly have a bad wheel bearing. I can hear a hum from the back waiting to see if it gets worse.
3 badly dulled headlights need replacing and fish bowl filled with water tail lights too.
    4. still need to do alignment.

I spent somewhere in the range of $600 to $700

I pulled back the right front inner wheel well and had access to it I didn't think it was that bad! Im not going to repair the rockers. just dig out all the rot and prep whatevers left exposed. There may be a piece of the rocker above the skirt that you will see a hole through when the door is open I may run a strip and weld it just to hide that. I need to figure out how to read my paint code so I can get some touch up paint.
