    Hi All,

Just bought my son a 2000 Grand Prix GT with the engine and tranny from a 1999 GTP.

Looking forward to getting her in shape.

    Happy holidays to all.

Not sure what you mean, but, my son drives my 2012 Taurus that would eat this Grand Prix for lunch...... And, it was 2k.

2 grand is a steal, that turbo set up alone is worth that much.

if the ford taurus can beat the turbo GP theres something very wrong with the grand prix. turbos make over 300 hp to the wheels easy, if not more most of the time when tuned right.

Yup a stock 2012 Taurus is just barely faster than a stock GTP. The 2012 SHO is only 365hp stock. And if it was a SHO I am almost certain you would said so, so assuming that its a stock 3.5 then I would have to agree with Scotty that something is very wrong with that car if the Taurus eats it for lunch.

-Edit- Actually looking at things now, the Taurus is actually slower than a stock GTP, base FWD model 0-60 in 7.2 seconds 1/4 mile in 15.9 seconds. SHO 0-60 in 5.6 seconds 1/4 mile in 14.0 seconds.

my mom has a 02 taurus, its a dog. my 98 GS would walk it like it was standing still.

Those are the specs for a 2010-2013 Taurus. The 3.5 puts out 263hp those cars must be pretty heavy.

I gotta tell you.....I never had the chance to put it on the floor until tonight.

When we bought it, it needed full brakes with calipers. And the guy who owned it before us took the KYA struts and cut the springs to lower it. It was TOO low, so, I put new Monroe struts all around. also replaced both axles and the bearing and seal on the driver's side axle. It needed a horn as well.

Got it finished tonight and took it out on the highway. WEEEEEE!!!! is all I can say.

I did notice that the turbo pipe is rattling against something. Gotta figure that out. The waste gate (at least that's what the PO told me it was) Makes an annoying sound when it open or closes.

I'm hoping you all can help me with all the stuff. I always loved my Pontiacs. Had 4 Bonneville's and would have had a 5th but the stopped making them.

Looking forward to driving it tomorrow.

Oh yea, it's rusting badly in spots as well. I think someone started a project and ran out of money.

I think it's a perfect economical (2k is CHEAP) first car for my son.

BTW, does the filter looking thing on the oil filler hole have a purpose, or is it for "looks?"
