From what I understand the 08 cars can not be tuned because they changed the pcms, I could be wrong on this.
Nice big cars, enough power for the size. Very easy to work on if handy with tools.
Not many cons other than just typical GM part failures like on any car, though mostly minor. City gas mileage can suck sometimes, good on open road.
Being a 2008, pretty much all the bugs are gone and all updated parts are already on the car, no real need to replace anything except for standard maintence stuff that will depend on mileage.
thanks guys, I appreciate it.
Like mentioned..it's solid.
As for modding, well you can likely do a few things w/o needing much tune wise. Although and I speak from personal experience here (also L26 owner) it's slow and reliable. Unless you tossed in a turbo etc, it's never going to be much more that peppy.
ok as far as the pcm goes, would I just have to swap mine out with an 05'? or would ordering a pre-tuned pcm for 08 be the better way to go?
The general rating on Consumers Guide says it is a fairly bug-free year for the GP. I've been driving my '08 for over a year now with no problems (knock wood).
One little problem is some '08's have a clear coat finish that is a little too soft and scratches easily. That describes mine, but the various scratch repair products work okay for me.
