Thinking about and up grade to msd ignition for my 2002 gtp. Is it and upgrade or bs? I will be adding slp headers and corsa cat back. Also adding a pully. Anyone had experince with msd on these cars? Can i see rear world improvments with msd or is it fluff?

    Pro's they are red

Con's They work well at first and typically within a year or two they degrade and cause misfires. They cost quite a bit for self induced problems. Stock coils work better for longer.

The con's kinda outweigh the pro's.

Lol. Guess i will not waste my money on that.
Btw besides bmr is there anyone else who does suspension upgrades for the gp? I want to lower it like the gtx but slp does not offer the springs or shocks anymore.

sure thing... check out the stickies in the various sections or search on the stuff you are looking for. There are typically stickies in each section that detail things like lowering the car and all the stuff available etc.

Stockers are better due to reliability, but if you like the look... prep and paint whatever color you want and get good quality wires to match

Thanks tlsheff. I dont like the red on msd or bmr. At least bmr offers things in black. I just want to improve performance.

I bought this car new in 2002 and it has under 7k on it. Yes only 7k. My wife has 186k on hers and it has been a great car. I want to make mine crazy custom and put all my stock parts on her car.

Truthfully, unless your going for a dyno hp whore of a motor, there are several people with turbo/sc builds pushing over 500whp still on stock coils... Save your money, keep the stockers, put it to use elsewhere.

What is a sc build? I got my new spioler. Hood next then exhaust. I gave up on the cyclops hood from slp. Could not find one. Going to get a regular slp style hood. Who makes the best hoods?

Lol. A sc buld sounds very expensive. Bolt on stuff does not scare me but that maybe out of my comfort zone.

a supercharger build is "bolt on" stuff.

Headers, Intake, Tune, then drop a pulley size and stick with stock catback exhaust or your ears will bleed.

I've seen a horrid thread on Duraflex Hoods from Ebay. I would stay away from those, but most any others seem to be good. Alot of people tend to go for the SD hoods, but if you go through PYFC.com for one, keep in mind shipping is paid to the driver when they show up, its not calculated into the order.
