OK. I have another question/problem. The transmission will shift fine if I shift it from 1 to 2 to 3 but it won't do anything at all when I put it in drive. Anyone encounter this before?

Your forward band is probably broke. You'll need a trans rebuild

Or a JY trans, or someone to pull yours apart to put in one stinking little part.
