Not bad looking at all, I like that hood....Somebody will buy that pretty soon
Actually doesnt look bad. He owns another gp aswell. I wouldnt be to worried. If anything is wrong its probly the trans is on its way out so be prepared for that but car is in good shape.Maby hes just selling this one to fund his other one or ran into money problems. Ask him why hes selling it.
Looks good. I will say this I wouldn't spend my last penny on it. What I mean by that is if something was to go wrong (trans/engine etc) will you have the money to put into fixing it without busting your balls.
I will still offer less based on the uncertainty and have a rain day fund put to the side.
It has a new engine and people say to pass? F that I'd take a look at it. There are plenty of people who mod their cars and take care of it. Just because someone adds performance parts doesn't mean its going to be a train wreck. In fact I'd actually buy one like that over stock. At least I know what's been done. Anyone can revert a car back to stock. As far as getting rid of a car "for a reason." People move on from platforms and many leave the GP scene for something different.
looks like the engine is the only thing thats "modded" offer 3500 to start it off and buy it cheap put a stock or larger pully on it until you can start scanning it. the body is clean or looks like it at least id at least go look at it
Subed for outcome, get the owner down to $3500, that would be a good deal. It does look good.
I would investigate into what happened to the first engine. That info could shed some significant light on the history of the car and how the owner treated it.
After looking at the CL post, I think he's found a great deal on an f-body and doesn't have the pocket funds for it so he's selling his fun car for it.
Totally guessing on the F-body being the platform he's jumping to though.
That car doesn't seem to be heavily modded but if your not good with working on cars stock is more dependable. Having said that modding cars is really expensive and it's hard to sell a car for anything close to what you put into it. That's why people part them out and return the car to stock to sell in most cases. If your goal is a dependable car I'd say no. However if your goal is to mod a GTP and you find a nice one with all kinds of expensive parts its a great way to save a lot of money in the long run. I bought my GTP stock for 6 grand and have put over 8 grand into it.... I know a guy who bought a beautiful black GTP with tons of awesome tasteful mods including a polished GenV. He bought the car for 10 grand... The guy who sold it had over 20 into it...

Yea you will never make your money back by modding it. That's why the majority of us demod. I put in plenty of money into my car knowing it wasn't going to increase the value but it also kept the urge away from me going to get another car and then being stuck with car payments for 4-5 years.

You want a professionally built gtp. Spend a few extra hundred and buy his. Guarantee its 2x that car.. I bet if you flashed the cash he'd take 4500 for it.

Man you guys drop ridiculous amounts of money in grand Prixs.
Seems like 3800 parts don't sell like they used to and people are losing interest. My neighbor has been modding GTP's since 2005 and he claims the same thing. He says nothing moves on the 3800pro forum like it used to. I would hate to pull off all my mods and go through the hassle to sell them for a fraction what I paid. Granted the stock car would sell faster and for more $$$ but I'd still be way in the hole. I'll keep the GTP in the family forever instead.
You'll take a lost on parts regardless I've sold/bought on here and the other forums plenty of time you gotta price them to sell or wait and sit on them till either you eventually lower the price or someone bites. I always price to sell. It's true guys are losing interest in the 3800 and moving on to other things. Means cheap parts for guys like us![]()
man that thing looks beautiful tho lol
They both seem like clean rides, up where I live those would both be good looking deals to me! Cars in the NW seem to be a lot more expensive. Id give em a chance. Anyone that potentially has two of the same car is bound to be doing things on the up and up. Plus as dumb as this sounds, anyone that paints there motor blue must be into there ride!
