Thread: Can a cold air intake be put on a grad prix with california emisissions on it?

Since you didn't provide much information as to what year Grand Prix you have, what motor it has, whether or not its supercharged or anything really....

Car was most likely originally a Cali car so it already has all the emission control stuff on it. He is just wondering if it would be okay to run a CAI on a car that has the California emissions crap.

The only thing it need is a CARB E.O. compliant intake.

You'd probably need to buy a K&N if that's the case.

Well in ca they dont care about your intake but any thing else You need your e.o. number sticker

I have to disagree. I live in california and they are very picky. I had a tech give me issues with a K&N intake that is CARB legal even with the sticker.

But to answer the ops question yes an intake can be installed.

I just throw the stock air box on when smog time comes

That gets old fast. Even though smog is every 2 years here.
