I just joined because I just bought my first pontiac gtp comp g 2004. I kinda bought for my girlfriend so I need to try to get the best mpg possible. Would a smaller pulley help?
    thank you

No, taking weight out of the car and better driving habits will help more than anything.

    give this a read. http://www.grandprixforums.net/safel...0-a-67580.html

keeping up with all the regular maintenance will net the best mpg, along with a light foot on the gas.

    No.

Not sure why that first idea came to mind, that's like the worst thing you could do.

First lets start with a full tune up. Spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, PCV valve, oil change, transmission filter and fluid change.

Being that this car is a Comp G, aka a supercharged car, YOU MUST RUN 91+ octance gas, never run anything lower.

Thanks. Car has been maintained nicely. Keeping out of the gas is tough one.
Any thoughts on smaller pulley ? On supercharger. Or a k&n replacement filter or cold air intake?
    thanks

you literally ignored all the above posts. A smaller pulley is a bad idea for better mpg's. A filter is also useless. Not useless but you won't get back in MPG savings to offset the costs of the actual purchase. How is keeping out of the gas a tough one?

Sorry I overlooked that. I went to the safely modding link.
No need to jump all over me. Im new here.
Keeping out of the gas is tough because its fun to drive this car.
I like the throttle response. Boost
i will stay away from pulley.
    Thanks

I noticed an improvement with Plugs, HAI, Headers, Downpipe, Cat Back and a Tune. But then again its more fun to drive so I get worse MPGs then when she was stock. Keep that in mind the more ya to the car fun wise the MPGs will probably go in the wrong direction. But who cares about 2-5MPG difference

2001 4dr Black GTP Stock and staying that was... maybe

1997 2dr Black GTP Open Cone, GXP Rims, Black Headlights, ZZP Headers, ZZP Cat Back, Bunch of suspension parts from ZZP, ZZP 10.5MM plug wires, Autolite 605s, Overkill Tune
