    52k miles? Something tells me it stopped working a long time ago. You'll most likely have to swap one in from another gauge cluster, or just swap out the whole gauge cluster altogether (much easier since you have to remove it anyway, and you know the mileage can't be right, so you're not losing any vital info that way).
