Just wanted to say hello everyone! A few hours ago I purchased a 2001 GTP, and Im very excited! Cant wait to learn from and contribute to this forum! If anyone cares, Ive been on shoforum and tccoa, both similar forums (so far as I can tell). Previous vehicles Ive owned include:
    1999 Plymouth Neon
    1987 Iroc Z28
    2001 Explorer XLT
    1993 Taurus SHO
    1997 Thunderbird LX

That being said, I dont know much about these cars and their engines (yet) but I am fully willing to learn!

There are only 4 small issues with the car, one will possibly be fixed tomorrow if it doesnt rain.
    1. power steering pump
    2. fuel gauge reads incorrectly
    3. left front tire has a flat spot
    4. SES light on because I have no cat (MIL eliminators here I come!)

Just read that very informative thread atj8. Nicely done. What Im most concerned with is maintenance and safety. Previous owner did A LOT of work on this car, a good friend of mine, so I wont have to do much. I have the option of buying his black and red painted supercharger(I believe its a different gen than whats currently on the car), zzp headers, two different size pulleys, and a few other parts, for CHEAP. But Im not thinking about go fast parts just yet, I want to fix the little things first, and do everything right the first time. Plus, this car gets amazing gas mileage compared to my Thunderbird (which will be going up for sale within a week).
    oh yeah...
    Go Bruins!

Who is the friend.. or post a picture of your car. Pretty sure I know them, just because ... any GTP in this area.. yeah..I probably know them.

As for working on these cars, it's super simple. Get the basic metric tool set (7mm, 8mm, 10mm, 13mm, 15mm, 18mm) and you can fix the entire car. No lie.. beyond those sizes, there's only a couple other things.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Bill- my car is silver with a black hood, HIDs with projectors, halos, tint on the back 3 windows. AJ had this car, my friend John in Danvers had a green gtp, and my other friend Ralph in Winthrop (where I live) had a silver SSEI. If you know one of them, then you would know the other 2 as well. I washed it and cleaned out the inside today, if it doesnt rain too much tomorrow Ill take some pics and post them.

Well, before the various cars, I had a black SSEi, know almost all the guys on NEPontiac.org etc. Seems like we run in similar circles. Hmmm silver with a black hood sounds familiar.

Ask your buddies if any have gone to meets at my place or Claudio's.
