My car gets stuck at about 1500 RPMs while I'm driving down the road. To get it to accelerate, I'll push the pedal down and it will slightly accelerate but the RPM meter won't move. To REALLY get the car to move and the RPM meter to function I have to mash the gas pedal down. When I take my foot off the gas pedal, the RPM gauge will move and then go back to it's normal functioning. The car also shakes a little bit while I have my foot on the gas then the RPM gauge is stuck. I've read online that it might be the solenoid -- but I really have no idea.
Also, not sure if this is related or not, but whenever I put the car into drive or reverse out of park I hear a bit of a sound when it gets to about 5 mph. The sound ONLY happens when I get to around 5 mph. Sounds like it's coming from underneath the car - not really a hard grinding sound, but more of something rubbing. Has anyone experienced this before?
04 Grand Prix with 135k miles. Just changed the spark plugs and wires as well as the oil. The transmission fluid looks fine - still has the pink color.
Does anyone have experience with either of these?
