i been reading some peoples posts and they are saying that the l36 engine might not be able to handle the power like the connecting rods arent as strong as the l67? is this true?

i guess to some degree its true, ( i have no first hand knowledge, have heard that as well) but people turbo and top swap all the time. you dont seem to be going for max power any way, so i would not worry to much if thats the case.

I understand the neutral drop analogy. But wouldn't logic reason on the side that sudden boost(power) from a M90 would wear on the trans more compared to a turbo car that is increasing power at a slower rate causing "less shock" on the trans?

And this is how you multi quote.

Boost from a Turbo comes up slow, ie Turbo lag.
Punch the gas it takes a second or two(or longer depending on turbo size, housings sizes etc) for full boost. Turbos have more boost ability tho so more boost more power=more tranny wear

Bottom Line: Power = Transmission Wear.
