sc r more steady and easier to control
the bottom end of an l36 is plenty strong
used parts are where its at. you'll be around a grand for a top swap. maybe a bit more. with all bolts and gaskets and fluids. ( you should really squeeze a set of headers in the budget) you'll have a tad more HP then a gtp. and the stock tranny should be ok if you dont flog it daily.
just shop smart, take your time looking for parts, as one day nothing, then bam! what you want is up for sale at a price you like. or can live with.
i spend 3 months trolling craigslist for wheels. i watched a set re listed 3 times, then i called for them lol got 100 off his asking price too. he was happy to get rid of them.
i been reading some peoples posts and they are saying that the l36 engine might not be able to handle the power like the connecting rods arent as strong as the l67? is this true?
i guess to some degree its true, ( i have no first hand knowledge, have heard that as well) but people turbo and top swap all the time. you dont seem to be going for max power any way, so i would not worry to much if thats the case.
alright just wanted to make sure...but i also have titanium connecting rods so im not to worried
ur getting power boosts from both mixed up
And this is how you multi quote.
Boost from a Turbo comes up slow, ie Turbo lag.
Punch the gas it takes a second or two(or longer depending on turbo size, housings sizes etc) for full boost. Turbos have more boost ability tho so more boost more power=more tranny wear
