I need to switch my coolant level sensor and need to remove the battery to get to it, what order do I disconnect the battery? Positive then remove negative? Which order do I hook it back up, to avoid a big spark?

its gonna spark no matter what you do when you complete the connection. My pref dont care if its right or wrong, neg off, pos off. pos on neg on. im still alive
I had to remove mine today, get a 5/16 (don't take my word on that) wrench and just losen the positive end enough to use your hand for the rest, don't touch the wrench to any metal while you're using it. Beware there is a piece pretty close to the positive end so just be cautious. Then do the negative, you can tuck them behind a strip of rubber in front of the battery so they're out out the way. Then remove the rubber/plastic piece at the base. Also you're gonna have to remove the 2 bolts on the bar above the battery (bolts closest to the front) then you can pull the battery out and you're set. Sorry I didn't give specific part names, can't quite remember what they were. Hope that helps.
Half the time I just remove the negative and leave the positive on then do my work I know in this situation you actually have to physically remove it so yea just take it off and put it back on only thing you need to avoid is arcing the two terminals
i would remove the positve then the negative and put the negative on first then the positive
Your breaking the connection so it doesn't matter as long they arent both on.
I've personally always unhooked negative first leaving the positive alone.. I also do all my parasitic draws the same.. Who knows how many hundreds of vehicles I've tested this way.. Anyways doesn't matter.. Sparking is unavoidable.
