Just thought I'd say hi. I just bought a grey 05 Grand Prix GT.
    Had to get the GT!
    Here's a little background.
I had to replace my 96 Mazda B3000 truck. It had 450 000Km on the clock, and I decided not to fix it's brake problems. I was looking for a crew cab truck, or an Impala. I needed something I can fit car seats in. I have a almost 3 year old daughter, and a almost 1 year old son. I'm not sure why, but I wasn't even considering a GP, but a dealership I went to had a really nice black GT so for poops and giggles, I took it for a spin and fell in love. It had some rattles and creaks, so I kept looking finally finding a nice clean dark grey one for the right price.
I have been lurking here, learning about these cars, and what you guys do to them, so I decided to post.
I'm not sure really what I'm going to do with the car...wheels came to mind, blacked out tail lights.... but all this will take money away from my pride and joy......

So, to make a long story short....
    hi!

    Haha!
I pick up the new car tomorrow...(Wed) I'm pretty stoked.
I've never really had a daily driver to get that excited about..had a AMC Spirit... before just being an AMC made it cool, had a K car, and then my truck.
I didn't think I'd really spend much money customizing the Grand Prix, thats kinda what the Gremlin is for, but I had the windows tinted on the Grand Prix, I guess thats a start!
(Blacked out wheels look pretty cool too....)
How sad am I... I'm 34, and this is my first car with power accesories and A/C!
Sunroof...remote start....YUP! Welcome to the 90's, Mr. Richard!

Welcome, I was in a similar situation as you 7 years ago. I had a 2-door sentra and my wife had a 2 door stanza. When our first son was born we started looking for a car that had the most leg room for my wife and the car seat. The salesman thought I was crazy but I had him bring me 7 different cars on the lot and the Grand Prix had the most room at the time. I told him we'd take it. After 2yrs my wife got fed up of the limited space in her car and now we both own Grand Prix GTs.
debadged, clear corners, 20% tint, tinted tails, vibrant performance tips, red painted calipers, Fig. grills, autometer guages, PFYC 3 pod A pillar, SLP CAI, 2.5" DP, SD Hood, SD front air damn, Gen I spoiler, 17X8 Borbet Type M rims, engine upgrades soon!

Thanks for the welcomes. I never thought a "family" car would be so bad azz! It isn't a GTP but it goes like stink!
Here is my first dumb question. On the dash it says WIDETRACK. Is that a marketing gimmick, or is there really something wider than the base model? Tires and wheels? The acctual stance? Just wondering.
