I bought a 1998 GP GT For $300. it comes with a L67 Not installed but came with the car. it also has the wiring harness and ECU. so it came with the L36 from the factory but the guy threw the bottom end out of it. the car has 285,000 miles on it it needs re painted. the trans has less than 85 thousand on it. did i do good? and what all do i need for the swap. and will the L62 need Premium
a little bout me i am a wounded Iraqi war vet. i am retired as of 2009.

    He means L67.

    L67 needs 91+

Sure you can swap it in. You'll need a custom tune to run the 4T65e with 3.29's because the PCM that you got will be for a 4T65e- HD with 2.93's.

No it's not tuned to run a supercharged motor

    Sure.

But it will still need a custom tune to run the motor.

    L67 and L36 are different, L67 is 8.5:1 and L36 is 9.5:1 compression.

L36 is NA and L67 has a blower.

The L36 pcm wont know what to do with boost and the 2 bar map and among other things.

the l67 pcm has the wrong gear ratio programed into it and needs tuned and the L36 pcm has the wrong motor programmed into it and needs tuned.

No if you use the L67 pcm it won't shift right.

you can just get the pcm tuned it's not very expensive.

it wont shift right, the computer thinks it running another gear ratio.

so tuning for the right gears is necessary.

You'll have to find someone close by with a tuner or send out your pcm to zzp, intense, overkill, or elsewhere to get it tuned.

would the car be driveable and would it just shift early? I need the car up, I can get a transmission on the 11th.

I don't think the car would even drive correctly. Grabbing another trans would be a lot more costly versus the tuned PCM.
