I might get hit for this but I do love a lot of imports. I mean, the talon was Mitsubishi. I used to hate Hondas, but as time went on I started to really like them. I realized it was the owners I couldn't stand. I beat a lot of Hondas and I lost to a lot of Hondas in the DSM. The thing I hated was the guys who won talked a lot of trash about how slow my car was, and the guys who lost.............. talked a lot of trash about how slow my car was..... It's the owners of cars that give them a bad reputation.
I can't stand Mustang owners!!! I love Cobras, but the owners make me hate them because they talk so bad about the LSx series engine like it's a joke.
I work with Brad Finneyfrock. He used to be my boss but I switched contracts few years back. If you don't know who he is, he was on PINKS. Owns an 89 black fox body stang. He won a Red Wagon on the show. I don't remember the make or model of it. However, I love the 98-02 T/A WS6 but he would talk about how much junk they are. He knew nothing of them. He didn't even know that the manual trans in them was the T56... yet he builds stangs. He talks so bad about Paul Efantis and their 2JZ Solara (the veteranarian at my job is married to their crew chief so when they are in town I usually go up and see them) yet the car smokes his stang in the 1/8 and 1/4!!! He talks about "oh their car is only 2200 lbs, if the stang was only 2200 lbs I'd beat him" He won't even give a very successful drag racer, the best of his class as a matter of fact, any credit at all because it's not a Mustang....
I believe in class. Trash talking isn't my game. If i get beat by a Kia Spectra... I respect that the guy actually got a Kia to go that fast. Racing is taken way too seriously.
All car manufacturers have made some amazing breakthrough designs. Mitsubishi with the hybrid turbos (T3/T4), Nissan with the computerized smart suspenion (Skyline), GM with an incredibly powerful 8 cylinder engine that is as light as a 13b rotary (LS1), etc...
Trash talking car brands just doesn't make sense to me... even if the car is slow...
PS... when my friends build their cars whether it be Honda or GM or something else. They take parts off cars they hate... for example the 76mm throttle body off the stangs onto the DSM is pretty common.

And you exactly right. If this guy didn't come on here like he did, woulda been a whole different story with me. The red acura he posted, from the front looks like a nice ride, but with the way he was running his mouth turned it all around. There are alot of imports that I have mad respect for. I don't car about make or model. I am a gearhead and love building all types of cars. If he woulda found out who I was and the purpose of my car. Was originally being built as a show car. All show with a little go. I am in the middle of getting dings and stuff out my body, therfore there is primer. Not to make this about me, just making a point.
