Greetings from the Wet Coast of Canada!
I have been a GTP owner for 8 years having bought my '00 new. She is the sweetest ride I've ever had but now has 185,000 kms (about 115,000 miles) on the odometer. I was going to sell it but find too many people think all GP's are alike and don't recognize what kind of car the GTP really is and I don't want to give it away.
As a result, I have decided to up date her in some way.
I am really impressed with the support this forum provides to members so I'd appreciate some tips on the first steps in tricking her out.
I am looking initially at some appearance things then want to work on putting a bit more jam into the engine.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Sorry to be so long winded!

Welcome to the Community! It all depends on how far you want to go with your mods(inside and out). To play, you have to pay. Good mods would be a FWI, U-bend delete, downpipe, PCM, Autolite 104 spark plugs ect.. as for exterior mods its all on you and what your taste is. I personaly like the WS-6 style hood, and there are many other things you can do... but like I said before, "To play, you have to pay".

Welcome to the forums. Happy to have you here. To start of on apperance, I'd get a noce set of rims(unless you like the oem's) and a set of springs to get the stance right. Hood, front facia add on, and a SD spoiler could be next. It's up to you of what you want her to lok like.

    Thanks for the welcome everyone.
Boger help me out with some definitions:
what is FWI, U-bend, downpipe and PCM. Sorry to sound like such a novice but the last several years as a banker have not exactly equiped me to twist wrenches right out of the gate! Last time I got grease under my nails, tweaking your engine meant adding duel exhaust or swapping out a two barrel carb for a quad!
    Thanks for your help!

FWI = Fender well intake/cold air intake, u-bend delete = http://www.pfyc.com/mm5/graphics/new/wb5001.jpg , Donwpipe is the constrictive piping from the headers to the catalytic converter, and the PCM is the Powertrain Control Module(ie. your cars compter/brain). Most people either send in their pcm to be reprogrammed or buy a already reprogrammed pcm.

OK, starting to make sense to me and gives me lots of things to contemplate and plan for over the next few months.
Would replacing the hood with one with the air scoops actually be a functional instal if I did some or all of the mods you suggest or is it just cosmetic? I kind of have in mind eventually entering her in some local Show 'n Shines?.
    I really appreciate the advice.

    Sorry for the late welcome!

I plan on keeping my GTs as long as they hold together. I don't see the point of buying another car when I'm absolutely in love with them. Will put a crate motor in when I finally blow mine up and then strip them down for a modified rebuild and turbo or top-swap.
debadged, clear corners, 20% tint, tinted tails, vibrant performance tips, red painted calipers, Fig. grills, autometer guages, PFYC 3 pod A pillar, SLP CAI, 2.5" DP, SD Hood, SD front air damn, Gen I spoiler, 17X8 Borbet Type M rims, engine upgrades soon!
