If your sc was plugged with jb weld or something like that and not welded that's bad and could cause you to blow your motor if it ever comes loose.

He's my boyfriends best friend and I've known him for years he wouldn't do a cheap job on me. Especially when Im good friends with his girlfriend. I could give him hell If needed
    But thanks for the concern.

You said he did it for $50 that's what makes me think he used jb weld or something. Hopefully not though.

I'm OCD and over protective of my car. I wouldn't let just anyone have hold of my parts.

And though I'm new to the forum I am not new to my car, mods and the build plans. -curtesy of slow6, gpona members and intensive research. If I have a mod in mind or a build plan its With good reason And/or only after a lot of research and questioning.

Curious. You '05 L26 has blacks, but my '06 L26 has greys.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

Huh. Is your '05 base or GT? It shouldn't make a difference, since it's the same darn engine, but I'm grasping at straws here.

Something I just realized. Will my stock struts and shocks be able to handle lowering springs?

Yeah... for how long? Not very long. The life expectancy of a stock strut is dropped tremendously. That is why most advise getting new struts, preferably GR-2 or others along those lines.
