My opinion of the chain differs from Nicks.. I see 200K mile motors with their stock chains w/o issues. Heck..I knew a guy running nitro at 286K stock chain. The dampener/tensioner really doesn't take a beating with stock valvetrain.
My current Regal is at 194,XXX on it's stock engine with stock chain and dampener. I upgraded the springs to LS9 and put on rockers at 165K. Anyone that knows me..knows the car isn't babied. I'm not worried at all.
